CARPLS continues to provide free, high-quality legal help to low- and moderate-income Cook County residents—and we’re reaching more people by expanding from phone-based services to face-to-face support. This year, we’ve hosted 10 in-person expungement clinics with the New Leaf Illinois network and launched estate planning workshops focused on Transfer on Death Instruments, helping clients—especially in Black and Brown communities—build generational wealth.
This exciting evolution of CARPLS services is only possible thanks to our dedicated supporters. Below are a few snapshots of CARPLS in the community.

CARPLS’ community events have been a meaningful success—bringing vital legal services directly to individuals facing complex and urgent challenges. At a recent TODI workshop, one client shared, “The CARPLS attorney was professional and explained the step-by-step process of my documents. I’ve now secured my daughter’s future as my legal beneficiary. This brings me such great comfort and peace of mind. THANK YOU!”
Stories like this are exactly why we do what we do. We’re proud to meet clients where they are—and we look forward to expanding these efforts throughout the communities we serve.
